7 Training platform integrations to boost your business

A great digital training platform will allow you to easily create, manage and report on your customer, partner and team training. But it will also allow to integrate with other software to increase efficiency, productivity, agility, data management, reporting, or simply to offer a smoother experience to your audience. Here are the top integrations you should consider to give your business a boost.

When an integration is done right, you don’t even notice it. As a user, you have probably gone through a few integrations without even noticing. For example, have you ever used your social media sign-in to access a different platform? That’s an example of an SSO (single sign on) integration. This means user experience and functionality are very important for its success so, before you go ahead with any integration, it’s important to make sure you plan ahead and think about what you want to accomplish.

So, what are the key integrations that will help boost your business?

1. Videoconferencing & live streaming

Integrating a videoconferencing tool or live streaming with your training platform, will allow you to create or include live events or synchronous type classes in your programme. There are plenty of benefits for this integration, such as: your audience can join both live and recorded training  through the same place – your academy, you can tap into blended learning by using quizzes, assessments, documents or recorded videos as part of the live session (and you can record the live session and then make it available on demand so anyone that couldn’t attend can still benefit from it), take advantage of all the detailed reporting in your training platform, monitor attendance, manage the entire process from enrolment to offering personalized certificates, and more. 


2. Marketing Automation

There are two ways to approach an integration with a marketing automation software. On one hand, you can use the marketing automation features to increase efficiency in managing your training communications such as automated notifications, or using actionable insights to trigger activities that will allow for a more efficient approach, and making low touch feel like high touch

On the other hand, a digital academy can be a crucial part of your content marketing strategy to attract and nurture high quality leads (due to more qualification information and access to in-depth content), to position yourself as a leader in your market that provides training in key areas of your industry, to increase demand, and to collect your leads’ data through a gated academy.

This integration will also allow for a deeper and recorded knowledge of each lead, based on their behaviour and interests shown in relation to your training content, enabling a more comprehensive lead profile and detailed reporting.

It’s easy to understand why integrating your training tool with your Human Resources software is a great idea. After all, you will be able to have a complete archive of each employee's data, including all the training activities they did without the need to add the same data repeatedly, or from one platform to the other manually. 

This type of integration makes for an easier management and tracking of onboarding and training activities and needs, integrated reporting of impact in productivity and performance, and a better understanding of potential knowledge gaps.


7. Your product or website

Integrating your training platform with your product or website will allow your customers and potential customers to easily find your customer academy to get help, learn about your product, or learn new skills.

With a single sign-on integration, for example, your customers will be able to seamlessly login across tools made available by your company without friction or need for further sign in / sign up. In this case, integrating with your own product is critical, as it is a place where questions are likely to arise that may require communication, support and training, for example, to get help using a feature.
